Karen Cuskey-Hartman
My name is Karen Cuskey-Hartman and I’m on a Campaign 4 Kindness! I’ve lived in East Dallas for nearly 30-years and one thing I can attest to is that it’s one of the kindest communities in the world! People here go out of their way to be kind and help one another and it’s contagious. I started this page to illustrate just how special our community is! Whether you are new here or are a life-long resident, WELCOME! If I can personally help you with literally anything, please don’t hesitate to reach out. If I can’t help myself, I bet I know someone that can. We are all in this together!!
A little about me…
I have one mission in life and that’s to leave the world better than I found it! Once upon a time I was accomplishing my mission through my award-winning philanthropy and marketing. In 2004, I was licensed as a real estate agent, however, being an agent and flipping houses took a backseat because I was building the agency. In 2015, while planning my wedding, I had a near-death experience and decided life was too short not to follow my dreams in a more meaningful way. I sold my interest in the agency to join Coldwell Banker full-time and have never looked back.
Today I use my marketing and my network to help my community and my clients. I call it, “connecting the dots.” And I have lots of tools to connect!
I am a partner in Campaign 4 Kindness, a non-profit focused on igniting systemic change in the way we treat one another. I also sit on the board for Tacky Box (a tool that teaches kindness to kids), Miles of Freedom (helping people and families of those returning from prison), and I volunteer for Big Brothers/Sisters. Most recently, I’ve partnered with 6 like-minded, like-hearted realtors to form The Live Local Group at Coldwell Banker where service to our community comes first. When one realtor with a great network shows up, good things happen, but when our team of connectors shows up, we can make a change and truly help our neighbors and our community. It all starts with kindness. Together we support The Peace Pantries in our East Dallas Schools (my partner, Nancy Wilson, was the founder), Mommies in Need, Wine to the Rescue (helping pets and other pet organizations) and we even started a scholarship that awards one East Dallas Senior with a scholarship for igniting kindness in our community.
I’m married to the love of my life, Tobin Hartman, and we are grateful givers at Munger Place Church.
